Skoah started in Vancouver in 2001 and they create spa experiences for each individual helping them understand their skin and personalizing different products for different skin conditions. After much success, Skoah is now all across Canada and teaching their knowledge on the skin with their amazing product line.
After my recent visit to Skoah in Willow Park Calgary, I feel like I finally understand my skin a lot more. They are very honest with their products, great knowledge on the skin and lovely at coaching me to better skin.
So, this was my first time getting my facial done with Skoah and here's a quick review of my experience and the products used.
Facial: Facialiscious 75 min
First Impression: the store was very organized and split into different sections in terms of skin type. I loved how everything was very clean, minimal and easy to understand.
Pricing: moderate and they have this amazing membership program that allows you to save.
It ranges from full, lite and monthly depending on how often you need to go to facials.
Experience: So just like any other facial, you start off by undressing and waiting for the esthetician on the facial bed. My experience started off like a warm burrito, the facial bed was equipped with a nice warming sensation, made me instantly relaxed. The esthetician started off by asking me about my skin condition. She diagnosed my skin concerns by observing and instantly started coaching me about what's good and not good for my skin. As the facial went on with the exfoliating, cleansing, toning, masks and moisturizing - every interval was accompanied with an amazing massage from head to toe.
Favourite Products Used:
AHA Mask (Exfoliator)
For this mask, what I really like is the scent and sensation. It's very refreshing, pepperminty and once applied, tingly. It contains AHA which helps with exfoliating and loosening dead skin which helps me strip off the unnecessary dry skin. It's a great way to start to my facial to help me absorb the other products more effectively.
Charcoal Mask
So as I've mentioned, I have an issue with blackheads and as you all know charcoal is a great product to purify, decongest and draw out impurities. My favourite part of this mask is that it has tea tree oil which acts as an antibacterial to help cleanse and seal the area from unwanted bacteria. I noticed after the application that my skin and nose, in particular, was very clean, brightened my skin tone and my skin didn't feel too tight after. My nose is finally blackhead free!
Hydradew Mask
And here comes my favourite mask, the hydradew mask. I believe that with skincare in general, as long as you have hydrated cleansed skin - all skin problems should be resolved. And this mask delivers all the hydration you need without any oil-based ingredients. This mask feels great on the skin, absorbs instantly, cooling and the best part - I left with dewy, glowing skin.
Overall: My experience with Skoah was amazing. From the love of minimal aesthetics with their storefront, amazing customer service, professional/knowledgeable esthetician to absolutely amazing skincare products that are gluten-free, vegan, PETA certified and high-quality olive oil, shea butter, and coconut oils. I'm amazed by how comfortable and relaxed the facial was from beginning to end - I did not want it to end. I love their membership program that helps us as clienteles to save money and set reminders to pamper ourselves and to keep our skin in line. The best part about this facial is that each facial is different, each time they'll personalize a facial for you in terms of what your concerns are at that time. I'm super impressed and I'm totally down to sign up for their membership.
