My Winter Skincare/Makeup Essential

Winter here in Alberta is crazy dry & cold and because of this I put hydration my number one priority.
And here are a few of my winter essentials that keeps my skin & makeup looking right.

With my skin being so dry, I definitely need an oil in my daily regimen to balance out my skin. I've started using Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil about a year ago and it has made my skin so much more plumped and hydrated. I love how it is certified organic, no fragrance and safe for eczema & rosacea. I use this in my night time routine by gently massaging it on my face right after cleansing. It absorbs really quick and is versatile for face, cuticle, hair etc.

Moving on to foundation, I'm in love with this light formula from StyleNanda 3 Concept Eye Glossing Waterful Foundation in Nude Beige. This foundation gives medium coverage and does not dry out the skin. It gives the skin a great glow while keeping the skin looking moist. I love it, it is my winter life saver when it comes to foundation.

While winter here makes everything look dull and cold. I like to add a little bit of colour to my face by using Revlon Colorstay Moisture Lip Stain in 025 Crush. It is a really natural light pink and super hydrating to the lips. I'm not a big fan of lip colour but this one just gives me the confidence because it  doesn't flake on me, long lasting, and the colour is so natural.

At the end of the day, makeup has got to be cleansed away and I'll definitely stick with Shu Uemura Skin Purifier Cleansing Oil in Fresh to be more gentle with the skin. Repeating that it is dry here in Alberta, oil is the best way to go to keep the skin hydrated and not with other alcohol cleansers.

Fall/Winter is a season for pretty dark nail colours and this year I'm in love with Butter London Nail Lacquer in La Moss. This nail lacquer is so gloomy and the red is so build-able, topping the notch to this winter. Although winter is cold, dry and treacherous here in Alberta; I love how there is so many great products & cosmetics to keep my skin hydrated.

  1. Oooh! That Waterful foundation sounds so...hydrating and refreshing, lol. I think it's because of the word "Waterful."
